Welcome to the Wyoming Center for Nursing and Health Care Partnerships Wiki!

One of the aims of the WCNHCP is to provide information and data on how to improve recruitment and retention of nurses in the state of Wyoming through evidence based outcomes. To that end, this wiki will provide complete details on the pilot projects that the WCNHCP is funding, from the planning stages to final reports. The WCNHCP Wiki will also provide information about best practices in other states on current recruitment, retention, education and training efforts, and information on future research.
At this time, the WCNHCP is funding five pilot projects across the state. These projects were chosen because successful outcomes in each of them can be quickly and easily replicated at other sites in Wyoming.
These projects are:
- Preparing Clinical Preceptors
- CNA Mentorship Program
- Succession Plan for Public Health Nursing
- Nursing Leadership Institute
- Improving Nurse Retention through New Graduate Program
The WCNHCP has been awarded a Department of Workforce Services grant that will provide opportunities to expand on funding pilot projects. The next round of funding will award four projects on improving the nursing educational capacity in the state. Further, the grant will allow the WCNHCP to host educational summits that may help streamline the process of nurses earning a degree by creating clearer career paths. In the future, the WCNHCP plans on funding additional pilot projects in their continuing efforts to increase recruitment and retention of nurses in Wyoming.
